When I read the synopsis to the movie; two words instantly came to mind; Legally Blonde. There is a definite Legally Blonde aura to the storyline, which made me sceptical regarding its authenticity. Nevertheless, decided to watch it to neutralise the fact that I watched a bit too many Horror and action movies lately.
And as per expected, the storyline is more or less Legally Blonde; only with more bleach and weaves present in this one. It does display some few good (but forgettable) laughs; I only watched it a few days ago, and I swear I could not really recall any particular good humour.
As what a Playboy Bunny would signify; the movie does portray a significant amount of sexism; in order to attract men, dressing and acting like a slut is a necessity – a message you definitely would not want your girls to actually delve into. This movie seems to have only one entailment to the word “sexy”; which is hoochy, when in fact the word “sexy” could be seen in a broader perspective and not necessarily be linked to sex itself.
And as per Legally Blonde; hey what do you know, there’s a school institution involved! However, instead of promoting that having a brain is beautiful; it seems to just portray that school simply means one thing; a popularity contest. I don’t remember a scene where any of the students actually studied.
Anna Faris’s performance is more or less “expected”. It wasn’t awesome and neither it was memorable, or perhaps her lips completely distracted me to actually analyse her performance throughout the movie. I swear her lips are twice the size it normally was back from the Scary Movie days.
Verdict: Worth the watch for the sake of boredom. It’s a DVD movie as opposed to a cinema movie.
