Thanks for visiting, but I've moved to another site. I've decided to still keep this site available for public viewing only because some readers requested me to do so. I rarely check CFM, so if you wish to leave me a message, do leave it here.

KB happened

Time: 11:27 pm
Location: Sungai Tali, Lumut

I just got back from the KB Bloggers Night organised by KB Happening and Arab Families.

I was supposed to come with Zayn Sabry but due to a last minute job call, he had to abandon our plan, thus I drove to KB AND attend the event alone, I was actually slightly nervous about the whole event. Why? Because I’ve never attended any of the sort, so this is like a debutante to me. And I thought to myself; it’d be a good chance to see the people behind all these interesting blogs.

Due to the fact that I didn’t know anybody, and I somehow doubt that these people would actually recognise me from my blog or even know it, I thought I’d be like a complete alien (that and the fact that I do not have the innate gift of mingling around introducing myself; for some reason that is simply not my forte, plus I’m actually shy… somewhere deep within me that is… okay stop laughing fiz.. I know you’re saying “Muaz – shy? As if~” but I am.. in a way). And honestly that is how I felt for the first few minutes.

Then it became warmer and warmer. Thanks to Liz and Pablo for their excellent help in introducing me around – I really needed that. Heh. A lot of faces were very foreign to me that night as I didn’t know a lot apart from Maurina, Pablo and Alin. Ooh, I would like to apologise if I didn’t introduce myself or if I appear rather unwelcoming, because, well, I’ve said earlier, socialising is a forte I desperately need to master. Heh.

Nonnie asked a very interesting question to me as I met her. “are you gonna stop blogging?” because she reckons that I sound depressed lately. Which is rather funny, cuz I don’t think I do.. sound depressed I mean. But yes, different people, different perceptions. And to answer your question: No. I’m not gonna stop blogging, at least not for now, even though my mom doesn’t like it. Hehe.

I absolutely love Liz’s (KB Happening) opening speech. She mentioned something that has been bothering my mind for these few days; that some people blog for the sake of “glamour”, while others blog for a purpose.

Ooh Ooh! DJ Duffy was supposed to be the MC for the event, but didn’t turn up, because his car broke down.. or something, which in turn let him not to attend the whole night. Regardless, the event carried on splendidly. Who needs an MC when you have all these interesting people in the room enjoying themselves anyway? *wink*

Prior to the event, we were told to write three things about ourselves or our blogs. I got it all mixed up, I thought we were supposed to write three things about ourselves AND three things about our blogs, which is why I initially had six points. Haha, but I scrapped the other three and gave the first three (about me), which are:

1. Honest – sometimes maybe a bit too honest – thus needs to learn how to shut my mouth.

2. Very particular about English mistakes, especially the ones on labels, signs, ads, etc.

3. Loves Art.

And honestly, I thought nobody would actually know it’d be me from that description, but Mau already knew it was me from the very first point, and a lot actually knew from the second one. Liz even added henna to the third point, which surprised me and let me to conclude that I REALLY do not know who has been reading this blog. Haha. Well, now I know.

The event is also to celebrate some of the Arab Family members’ birthday – I think there were about 4 birthdays that night. So happy birthday to all of you. God Bless.

Oh. I have to mention the game. We had a game called “Larry”, there were 15 of us in the game; myself, Maurina, Rano, Anak Brunei, Affy, Marul, Stella, and Ucing Itam to name a few (huge apologies to the ones unmentioned, I have a bad memory). And who won? Me. Nyahahahhahahahahhahahahha. Wohoooooo. Yes, let me be kambang for a moment. I haven’t won anything for a while. Heh.

Throughout the night, we were entertained by Arab Family’s tradition; Contemporary Gambus. Which.. if you were to ask me earlier, I would go “ey? – definitely not my scene” BUT it was actually very entertaining. And it actually felt good straying away from trance, RnB and clubhouse music for once. So I had to say and I thought I’d never say this, but; great choice of entertainment.

Food was delicious as well. And I LOVE Bunny Pablo’s KitKat cupcakes; they were SCRUMPTIOUS, and I’m not only saying that because I’m being bias (KitKat’s my favourite chocolate), but it was really nice.

All and all, it was a great night. I thought I’d be a loner sitting in the corner, but it turned out that I had fun, and I met a lot of awesome and interesting people, and I even danced to Dangdut! The long and lonely drive to KB and staying in Lumut alone (my aunt and her family are in BSB; so here I am alone in a big house); all worth it. It was great meeting you all.

I didn’t take any pictures, but I know a lot are gonna post some interesting photos in their blogs, so I’m just gonna asi asi and grab. Heh.
